Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 57-75-11, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE MISSISSIPPI MAJOR ECONOMIC IMPACT AUTHORITY MAY CONSTRUCT SURFACE WATER TRANSMISSION LINES ONLY AFTER EXAMINING PROPOSALS FROM INTERESTED PUBLIC AGENCIES AND PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SELECTING THE PROPOSAL THAT PROVIDES SURFACE WATER TO THE PROJECT AT THE LOWEST COST PER 1,000 GALLONS; TO PROVIDE THAT SURFACE WATER TRANSMISSION LINES OWNED BY THE AUTHORITY MAY BE LEASED ONLY TO PUBLIC AGENCIES OR PUBLIC UTILITIES WHOSE SERVICE AREA COVERS THE AREA IN WHICH SUCH LINES ARE LOCATED; TO AMEND SECTION 57-75-15, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE PROCEEDS OF CERTAIN BONDS ISSUED UNDER THE MISSISSIPPI MAJOR ECONOMIC IMPACT ACT MAY BE UTILIZED TO DEFRAY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH WATER TREATMENT FACILITIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
