Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 41-7-191, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO AUTHORIZE NURSING HOMES TO ADD UP TO 60 NEW BEDS WITHOUT A CERTIFICATE OF NEED IF THE HOME HAS HAD AN AVERAGE OCCUPANCY RATE OF AT LEAST 95% FOR THE PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS; TO REQUIRE ANY NURSING HOME ADDING BEDS UNDER THIS PROVISION TO FIRST FILE A NOTICE OF INTENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH; TO REQUIRE A CERTAIN NUMBER OF THE NEW BEDS TO BE USED TO PROVIDE CARE EXCLUSIVELY TO PATIENTS WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE; TO REQUIRE SUBSTANTIAL CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW BEDS WITHIN 18 MONTHS AFTER THE NOTICE OF INTENT IS FILED OR THE BEDS WILL NOT BE LICENSED; TO ALLOW ANY NURSING HOME THAT HAS PREVIOUSLY ADDED NEW BEDS UNDER THIS PROVISION TO ADD MORE NEW BEDS UNDER THIS PROVISION BEGINNING 12 MONTHS AFTER THE PREVIOUSLY ADDED BEDS ARE OPERATIONAL; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
