Title: AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR A HIGHWAY PRIVILEGE TAX UPON THE OPERATION OF EACH TRAILER AND SEMITRAILER THAT TRAVELS IN INTERSTATE COMMERCE; TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH TAX SHALL BE IN LIEU OF OTHER HIGHWAY PRIVILEGE TAXES UPON SUCH TRAILERS AND SEMITRAILERS; TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE TAX COMMISSION SHALL ISSUE A LICENSE TAG FOR SUCH TRAILERS AND SEMITRAILERS UPON PAYMENT OF SUCH TAX THAT SHALL BE VALID FOR THE DURATION OF THE OWNER'S INTEREST IN THE TRAILER OR SEMITRAILER; TO PROVIDE THAT IN THE EVENT OF A TRANSFER OF THE TITLE OF THE TRAILER OR SEMITRAILER, THE LICENSE TAG SHALL BE SURRENDERED TO THE STATE TAX COMMISSION AND NO CREDIT SHALL BE ALLOWED UPON SURRENDER; TO PROVIDE THAT THE TAG MAY NOT BE TRANSFERRED BETWEEN TRAILERS OR SEMITRAILERS; TO AMEND SECTIONS 27-19-17, 27-19-33, 27-19-141 AND 27-19-153, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, IN CONFORMITY THERETO; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
