Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 63-7-83, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REQUIRE TRUCKS, TRAILERS OR OTHER CARRIERS WITH AN OPEN TOP CARRYING ANY LOAD OF SAND, DIRT, GRAVEL, ROCK OR OTHER SUBSTANCE OR MATERIAL THAT IS LIKELY TO LITTER THE ROADWAY OR CAUSE A TRAFFIC HAZARD OR NUISANCE TO OTHER MOTORISTS OR VEHICLES TO BE EQUIPPED WITH A TARPAULIN, CANVAS OR OTHER SUCH TOP SECURING THE LOAD IN A MANNER THAT WILL PREVENT ACCIDENTAL SPILLAGE; TO AMEND SECTION 63-7-89, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, IN CONFORMITY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT; TO REPEAL SECTION 63-7-85, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH AUTHORIZES VEHICLES HAULING SAND, GRAVEL OR DIRT TO USE SIDEBOARDS IN LIEU OF A TARPAULIN, CANVAS OR OTHER SUCH TOP TO SECURE THE LOAD; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
