Title: AN ACT TO CREATE A NEW CODE SECTION TO BE CODIFIED AS SECTION 41-29-136, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT ANY PERSON ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH ANY VIOLATION OF THE UNIFORM CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES LAW MUST APPEAR BEFORE A JUDGE BEFORE BAIL MAY BE AUTHORIZED; TO AMEND SECTION 41-29-139, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO DELETE THE PROVISION WHICH ALLOWS ANY PERSON WHO IS ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF ONE OUNCE OR LESS OF MARIHUANA TO GIVE A WRITTEN PROMISE TO APPEAR IN COURT TO HIS ARRESTING OFFICER; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
