Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 21-39-15, 21-39-17 AND 31-7-57, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT A MEMBER OF THE GOVERNING AUTHORITY OF A MUNICIPALITY WILL NOT BE PERSONALLY LIABLE FOR APPROVING A CLAIM WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE THAT THE CLAIM WAS FOR AN UNAUTHORIZED EXPENDITURE OF MUNICIPAL FUNDS, IF THE MEMBER PREVIOUSLY VOTED AGAINST THE APPROPRIATION FROM WHICH THE CLAIM WAS PAID OR WAS ABSENT AT THE TIME OF THE VOTE ON THAT APPROPRIATION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
