Title: AN ACT TO CREATE A NEW CODE SECTION TO BE CODIFIED AS SECTION 17-17-155, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT ANY COMMERCIAL HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY BUILT IN THE STATE SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED, OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI; TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE FACILITY MAY ACCEPT HAZARDOUS WASTES FROM OUT OF STATE GENERATORS FOR PURPOSES OTHER THAN STORAGE; TO PROVIDE THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY SHALL ESTABLISH REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE ACCEPTANCE OF HAZARDOUS WASTES; TO AMEND SECTIONS 17-17-151, 17-17-153, 17-17-3, 17-17-9, 17-17-15, 17-17-27, 17-17-53, 17-17-101, 17-17-103, 17-17-501, 17-17-503, 17-17-505, 17-18-5, 17-18-25, 17-18-29, 17-18-31, 17-18-33 AND 17-18-35, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, IN CONFORMITY THERETO; TO REPEAL SECTION 17-18-27, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH AUTHORIZES THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO SELL REAL PROPERTY FOR A FACILITY SITE TO A NONGOVERNMENTAL ENTITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
