Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 51-1-4, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE TERM "RIGHT TO ENGAGE IN WATER SPORTS" ON PUBLIC WATERWAYS SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED TO INCLUDE THE RIGHT TO HUNT ON THOSE PORTIONS OF LAKES AND BAYOUS OVERLYING PRIVATE LANDS; TO PROVIDE THAT THE LEGISLATURE RECOGNIZES THE COMMON LAW RULE THAT THE PUBLIC HAS NO RIGHT TO HUNT OVER PUBLIC WATERWAYS WHERE THE LAND UNDERNEATH IS PRIVATELY OWNED; TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON WHO DRIVES STEEL SPIKES INTO ANY TREES IN A LAKE ON PRIVATELY-OWNED LANDS SHALL BE PUNISHED UNDER SECTION 97-17-81, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972; TO AMEND SECTION 97-17-81, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CONFORM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
