Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 37-13-92, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CLARIFY THE CATEGORIES OF SCHOOL-AGE STUDENTS ELIGIBLE FOR ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL PROGRAMS, TO DELETE THE REPEALER ON THE STATUTE REQUIRING SCHOOL DISTRICT ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL PROGRAMS, TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO EXEMPT CERTAIN ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL PROGRAMS FROM COMPULSORY STANDARDS OF ACCREDITATION FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS AND TO DIRECT THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO DEVELOP NEW ACCREDITATION STANDARDS AS NECESSARY FOR ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL PROGRAMS; TO PROVIDE THAT NOT ATTENDING AN ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL AND NOT COMPLYING WITH THE COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE LAW IS AN ACT OF DELINQUENCY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
